Dr. Kevin W. O'Neil has practiced and taught geriatric medicine for over 27 years. He is currently on the staff at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Doctors Hospital in Sarasota, Florida. Dr. O'Neil graduated from Boston College magna cum laude and the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He did his internship at the Washington Hospital Center and his internal medicine residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He was an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center until moving to Sarasota in 1984. Dr. O'Neil is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of South Florida's College of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine. Dr. O'Neil is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Geriatrics Society and is listed in America's Best Doctors. He is currently on sabbatical from his practice with the First Physicians Group in Sarasota. Dr. O'Neil, with Renno L. Peterson, JD, has recently co-edited the book "Optimal Aging Manual: Your Guide from Experts in Medicine, Law, and Finance" (2004).
